If the world Garfield lives in 3D, that's not a mistake. It's perfectly reasonable for Jon to be to the right of the panel, then go around to the left side because, for example, the table (or whatever Garfield's bed is on) was in the way. Or it could be something to do with the layout of the rooms, or Jon went to do something else between shouting and showing up...
